In general, the paper clips to this invention comprise a pair of outer bridge portions, an outer clamping portion, a pair of torsion-generating portions, an inner clamping frame, and a pair of contoured inner bridge portions. Each outer bridge portion is substantially rectilinear and has a length of equal magnitude. The outer clamping frame has a pair of outer clamping portions, each being rectilinear and extending so that they converge together at a reinforced outer tip portion. Each torsion-generating portion is substantially rectilinear and extends substantially perpendicularly from its respective outer bridge portion for a distance less than the length each respective outer bridge portion. Each inner clamping portion is rectilinear and extends substantially parallel to the respective outer clamping portion. The pair of inner clamping portions converge at an inner reinforced tip portion. Each contoured inner bridge portion is disposed between its respective torsion-generating portion and respective inner clamping portion. As such, each inner bridge portion extends continuously from its respective torsion-generating portion, and further extends continuously into its respective inner clamping portion.
