PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sole having a superior gripping property enough to surely grip and grasp a road surface. SOLUTION: This sole 10 includes an outer sole 14 disposed in the grounding surface side of the shoe, an insole disposed in one main surface of the outer sole 14, the grip part 18 disposed in a prescribed position of the other main surface of the outer sole 14, a projecting piece 24 disposed inside the grip part 18 and projecting from the other main surface of the outer sole 14 to the grounding surface side, and an elastic body disposed between the grip part 18 and the insole. When a force is applied from the grounding surface side to the grip part 18, the projecting piece 24 is pushed from the grounding surface side so that the the other projecting pieces 26-32 and projection pieces 34-40 of the grip part are elastically deformed inward around the projecting piece 24 and at the same time deformed in the direction of grasping the grounding surface.
