PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method enabling the production of a lower aliphatic alkenyl carboxylate stably in high efficiency for a long period of time. SOLUTION: In the presence of a catalyst that is prepared by allowing the catalyst components including alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal compounds, an element in the group 11 of the periodic table or at least one compound of the element and palladium to be supported on the carrier, a lower olefin, a lower aliphatic carboxylic acid and oxygen are allowed to react one another in the vapor phase to produce a corresponding lower aliphatic alkenyl carboxylate. During the reaction, the elusion rate of the alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal compounds is controlled in the range of 1.0×10<SP>-5</SP>-0.01 %/h. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
