Disk apparatus and head positioning method

The apparatus has an actuator including a voice coil motor. A disturbance estimator (12) estimates the magnitude of disturbance load applied to a magnetic head (2) from driving signal and a voltage signal, and outputs disturbance estimation signal. A position detector (13) generates position error signal with respect to position of the head. A position controller (14) generates a control signal from the position error signal. An independent claim is also included for a head positioning method in a disk apparatus.
