PURPOSE: A device for controlling power of a removable storage is provided to prevent an excess current from being momentarily applied when the removable storage is attached, as a control circuit for selectively applying the power to the removable storage is installed in addition. CONSTITUTION: A detector included in a USB controller(150) detects attachment of the removable storage such as a USB(Universal Serial Bus) HDD(Hard Disk Drive)(200). A power supply supplies the power to the removable storage. The control circuit selectively applies the power to the removable storage by a combination of a signal generated from the attachment of the removable storage and the signal generated from a switch on/off operation of a user.
