PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device in a moving shelf device capable of conducting electricity only immediately after the occurrence of earthquake to operate the safety device while usually shutting off current carrying into an actuator, and of maintaining a condition in which current carrying has been shut off even if current carrying is shut off after starting the safety device operation. SOLUTION: A braking body 9 provided with an engaging part 10 in the direction along a rail 3 is arranged, and a locking body 11 capable of engaging with and disengaging from the engaging part is provided on each moving shelf so as to elevate. An operation body 12 is slidably provided in the direction crossing the rail orthogonally, and the locking body is operated in the interlocking relationship with elevation operation in accordance with moving of the operation body. While the operation body is moved against elastic energizing force to lock moving by a lock member 15 driven by the actuator 14, the locking body leaves the braking body, the actuator is driven when earthquake occurs, locking of the operation body by the lock member is released, and the operation body moves by elastic energizing force to lock the locking body in the engaging part of the braking body.
