<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake device which can obtain a variety of parking brake capacities appropriate to needs in the same biasing mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The parking brake device 1 is equipped with a brake lever 7 for activating brake shoes 47a, 47b; a rod 5 for operating the brake lever; a chamber spring 21 for biasing the rod during the activation of the brake; and an abutting means 9 which is assembled in the rod, separated at a prescribed distance to a force receiving part in the brake lever during a release of the brake, and abutted to a force receiving part 67 according to movement of the rod during the activation of the brake.
