<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact type engine starting switch device capable of improving reliability when the engine is started. <P>SOLUTION: When a power source ECU 13 supplies electric power to a magnetic sensor 21, the magnetic sensor 21 is enabled to detect a detection object. In other words, the magnetic sensor 21 can detect that a pressed member P is operated based on the power supply from the power source ECU 13. When the pressed member P is operated by a driver while the magnetic sensor 21 is supplied with the power, the magnetic sensor 21 detects that the pressed member P is operated and one of the necessary conditions for starting the engine is satisfied.
