ADDITIVE FOR HEATED ASPHALT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for heated asphalt which is liquid and excellent in operating efficiency and further enhances preventive effects on separation of asphalt from aggregates. SOLUTION: The additive for heated asphalt comprises a compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein R1is an 8-24C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group bearing at least one branched chain). The asphalt composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of asphalt and 0.01-3 pts.wt. of the additive. Addition of a higher alcohol or an aliphatic amine further enhances the separation-preventive effects.
