During playing a slot machine, high brightness LEDs 39m2 constituting an illumination device 39m are lighted and a liquid crystal display panel 39d is illuminated by the light emitted from the high brightness LEDs 39m2. Since the high brightness LEDs 39m2 are lighted merely through application of DC current, no inverter circuit is necessary, and the image displayed on the liquid crystal display panel 39d can be prevented from being disturbed by noise.
