The heating and cooling system (1) has a first two- part (8,9) heat exchanger (4) with air flowing through it and second, two part (10,11) heat exchanger (5) in the passenger cabin (7), separate from the engine (3) cooling circuit. A pump (2) is driven by the engine to circulate working fluid through connecting pipes (20-24) controlled by valves (A-D).
