The layout (1) has a manifold chamber (3) which spirals around suction pipes (4) connected to each cylinder of the engine. Openings (6) connect the chamber and pipes. There are three openings per pipe, at three different lengths (L1,L2,L3) along it. At least two of these openings are controlled by valves, preferably flaps (7,7'). These valves are connected to shafts (9,9'), which preferably lie next to the manifold chamber's wall (10). The valves may be sprung to close the openings, and be covered by a rubber sheet (8). |
