PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical impact crusher capable of obtaining a product with superior particulate form. SOLUTION: This crusher is provided with a crusher chamber 1 and a high speed rotor 6 provided inside the crusher chamber 1. Material charged into the rotor 6 is discharged from a discharge port in the outer periphery of the rotor by centrifugal force, made to collide with a piled material layer 11 formed in the crusher chamber 1 to be crushed, and the product drops from the space between the rotor 1 and material layer 11. A blocking member 8 blocking lower periphery part of the layer 11 having an upward tilting face 8a upward tilting toward outside in the radial direction is provided in the crusher chamber 1.
