Device for measuring deformation of cases, especially cylindrical packaging cases, comprises a cylindrical pressure vessel (1) closed by covers (3, 12) and having a supply line (14) for a gaseous pressurizing medium. The first cover has a centering piece (4) for a case (2) to be tested, while the second has an axial hole through which a piston (13) can be axially displaced. Piston displacement is measured using a displacement sensor (9), while case deformation is measured using external (5) and internal (16) displacement sensors.
