PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deposit of dust in a drive mechanism part 21 due to influence of a fan 29 and to provide for a long lifetime of the device, in a recording and reproducing device having such structure that an electric system part 24 having an amplifier 27 or the like in the interior of the drive mechanism part 21 driving a recording medium is arranged and heat caused in this electric system part 24 is discharged to the outside of the device by the fan 29. SOLUTION: This device has such structure that a partition wall 31 is provided at the inside of the device and the drive mechanism part 21 and the electric system part 24 are partitioned respectively, and convection of air inside of the device by the fan 29 does not reach the drive mechanism part 21.
