A bactericide containing a novel substituted benzene derivative or salt thereof as an active ingredient. The bactericide contains as an active ingredient either a substituted benzene derivative represented by the formula [I]: (wherein Z is a Y group or an optionally substituted heterocyclic group bonded in a position meta to A; X is halogeno, cyano, etc.; n is an integer of 0 to 4; A is -NR<1>-NR<2>-, -N=N-, or -D-NH-; G<1> is oxygen, sulfur, or -NR<a>-; G<2> is oxygen or sulfur; and R<3> is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, or haloalkyl) or a salt of the derivative.
