<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color illuminator capable of realizing an illumination with color light having high optical efficiency and making an optical system small in size, and to provide an image projection device adopting the color illuminator. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminator includes a light source, a color separation means to separate incident light according to a prescribed wavelength region, a 1st focusing lens to focus the light separated by the color separation means and a scroll means to form a color band in a different region by changing the course of each light separated according to the prescribed wavelength region and also make the incident light scroll so as to cyclically scroll on the color band. The image projection device includes the color illuminator, a 2nd focusing lens to focus the incident light again, a light uniformizing means to make the light passing through the scroll means uniform light, an image forming means to form an image from the light made incident through the light uniformizing means and a projection lens unit to enlarge and project the image formed by the image forming means to a screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
