PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a programmable controller capable of efficiently communicating with a plurality of external communication devices. SOLUTION: The programmable controller comprises a main communication module 3A having the function of requesting the reading and writing of data for use in running a sequence program, and a plurality of subordinate communication modules 3B for sending and receiving data to and from the main communication module. When there are requests to the main communication module 3A and the subordinate communication modules 3B to read or write data from or to the plurality of external communication devices 6, the main communication module 3A integrally controls the requests to the CPU of the PLC, thereby reducing the CPU load of the PLC, and increasing the processing speed of the sequence program.
