<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a deodorizing catalyst which comprises a metal oxide and can be made easily large in its specific surface area and uniform in its particle size and composition. <P>SOLUTION: Urea is added to an aqueous solution containing manganese acetate, cobalt acetate and zinc acetate, and this urea-added aqueous solution is heated to 50°C or above to produce a uniform precipitate comprising metal hydroxides, or the like. A binder component and an adsorbent such as zeolite are added to the slurry thus obtained as they are to obtain a coating solution. This coating solution is applied to a honeycomb-shaped base material by a wash coat method, or the like, and the coated base material is heated to 400°C or below after it is dried to obtain the objective deodorizing catalyst product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
