<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system capable of efficiently acquiring data by interrupting or restarting download according to communication speed. <P>SOLUTION: A server 1 downloads the data to a portable terminal 2 via a first base station 3. When a CIR value and a data transmission rate of the portable terminal 2 to the first base station 3 become less than thresholds set respectively, the portable terminal 2 interrupts the download by disconnecting communication with the first base station 3. The first base station 3 receives data which is not yet acquired by the portable terminal 2 from the server 1, stores it in a buffer and starts backup. After that, when the CIR value and the data transmission rate of the portable terminal 2 to the first base station 3 exceed the thresholds set respectively, the portable terminal 2 is connected with the first base station 3 by radio. Then, the first base station 3 transmits backup data which is not yet acquired by the portable terminal 2, stored in the buffer 1 to the portable terminal 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
