PURPOSE: A navigation apparatus is provided to enable a user to check or use data by receiving data from a server promptly. CONSTITUTION: According to the navigation apparatus(15), a communication unit(65) communicates with a server(52) receiving data. A data storing unit(14) stores data downloaded from the server. The navigation apparatus downloads data by communicating with the server before its operation is not completed when it starts to operate. The navigation apparatus has a display unit or a sound output unit, and displays the data stored in the data storing unit on the display unit or outputs the data from the sound output unit after its operation is completed.
