Process for obtaining polymeric optical fiber having a reflective layer core structure that presents low luminous flow losses; and which is characterized in that it comprises nitroxyl radicals, as a monomer inhibitor agent, which are substituted by any radical composed of: 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-acetooxipiperidin-1-oxyl, 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-acrylamido, piperidin-1-oxyl Bis (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl) maleate. The polymeric optical fiber is used in communication systems.
