PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush having new distribution of bristles without extremely complicating the manufacture of the brush. SOLUTION: The brush for applying a material to keratin fibers comprises a twisted core 10 demarcating the winding, and bristles 11 extending from the core 10 and clamped between the windings of the core. In the brush, at least two deformed bristles 12 are clamped between two adjacent windings 10a and 10b. The deformed bristles 12 have a material removed part or extension part, or is flattened at least in a section along the whole length of the bristles, extending outward from an upper section non-radially.
