<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing operation supporting system enabling any operators of a pointing system, especially a physically handicapped person, an aged person or a child (including a small child) or the like who is bad at an operation, to surely perform pointing without feeling inconvenient. <P>SOLUTION: A distance between two points which are the line-of-sight position coordinates of the operator and the pointer position coordinates of an external input device on a screen is calculated, and the movement of a pointer is controlled so as to increase a pointer moving amount per external input device unit moving amount as the distance between two points is longer, to reduce the pointer moving amount as the distance between two points is shorter, and to fix the position of the pointer for fixed time in the case that the line-of-sight position coordinates and the pointer position coordinates match within a prescribed distance range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
