<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming the simulation image of the skin having a natural texture without causing color deviation. <P>SOLUTION: By forming the internal reflected light image of the skin of an examinee by using polarization and performing independent component analysis to the internal reflected light image, the component image of at least one pigment component constituting a skin color is extracted, and an image pyramid method is applied to the pigment component image. Thus, the images of a plurality of hierarchies of different spatial frequencies are formed, and the histogram of pixel intensity about the images of the different spatial frequencies is obtained. By matching the histogram to the histogram of a specific skin obtained by a similar method, the skin image of the examinee is recomposed to form a simulation image where the texture of the skin is made to be close to the texture of the specific skin on the image of the examinee. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
