<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of easily understandably instructing a targeted person to move to a position where a proper pickup image can be acquired, and allowing the targeted person to easily move to the position where the proper pickup image can be acquired. <P>SOLUTION: In this image pickup device 1, a plurality of light emitting elements 6 are arranged like a ring in the periphery of an image pickup lens 3a. When the position of the face image of a targeted person in a pickup image is not proper, the light emitting element 6 in a direction to which the targeted person should move is made to light. Thus, it is possible to easily understandably instruct the targeted person to move to a position where the proper pickup image can be acquired.
