<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharging device which can detect whether or not a dot blank (missing of pixels) is actually present in a formed image, can specify the cause of the discharge abnormality when the dot blank is detected, and can carry out an appropriate recovery process corresponding to the cause which is different from a conventional sequential recovery process. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid droplet discharging device has a plurality of liquid droplet discharging heads, a discharge abnormality detecting means 10 for detecting the discharge abnormality of liquid droplets from nozzles, and a recovery means 24 for carrying out the recovery process to solve the cause of the discharge abnormality of the liquid droplets. When the liquid droplet discharging heads discharge the liquid droplets to a liquid droplet receiving object, the discharge abnormality is detected by the discharge abnormality detecting means 10 for a discharge operation for each of the liquid droplets to be discharged from the nozzles. In the case where the discharge abnormality is detected, the discharge of liquid droplets to the liquid droplet receiving object is interrupted, and the recovery process corresponding to the cause of the discharge abnormality is carried out by the recovery means 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
