PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an escalator capable of preventing the entry of water in a moving handrail. SOLUTION: A handrail 1 has a handrail body 3 with a deck board 8, a guide rail 4 fixed to the board 8 and guiding the moving handrail 2, and a throating part 5 fixed to the board 8. The board 8 has a deck part 10 extended along the handrail 2 on the outward side, and an arc extended part 11 extended along the handrail 2 in an arc shape at an overturning part.
