PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a halogenated aromatic amine by a simple method while maintaining a high yield/high selectivity by suppressing a dehalogenation reaction which is a side reaction, in a catalytic hydrogenation reaction of an aromatic halonitro compound. SOLUTION: This method for producing the halogenated aromatic amine by the catalytic hydrogenation of the aromatic halonitro compound in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst such as a platinum catalyst, etc., is provided by performing the reaction in the co-presence of carbon dioxide to improve the reduction speed of nitro group and also suppress the dehalogenation reaction which is the side reaction.
