<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a means for continuous use, by preventing displacement of a wire rope of a high-accuracy drive transmission means. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, recording is performed by transferring toner images formed on a plurality of image carriers (photoreceptor drums) onto recording mediums. The image forming apparatus has a driving force transmission means constituted of the wire rope 3 connecting the plurality of photoreceptor drums 1, and the driving force transmission means transmits the driving force from a drive motor 4 to the plurality of photoreceptor drums 1 . Further, drive transmission of the photoreceptor drums 1 to drive shafts 7 is performed through an electromagnetic clutch or the like to selectively performing ON/OFF of the driving force transmission, and a means for changing a moving direction of the wire rope 3 between a forward direction and a reverse direction is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
