CHARACTERISTICS CORRECTION SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

A characteristics correction system for an automatic transmission, in which the rotation difference between the input rotation speed Nin of a torque converter and a turbine rotation speed Nt is compared with a target differen ce rotation .DELTA.N to increase/decrease (S6, S7) it by feedback and check whether the rotation difference has converged to the target difference rotation .DELTA.N or not (S8). And, if a drive duty (duty) when it converges to the target difference rotation .DELTA.N is within a shipping judging standard, that value is stored/retained (S10). The difference between this stored/retained drive duty value (duty) of each automatic transmission and a reference value is written to a TCU as the correction amount of each automat ic transmission so as to be able to correct characteristic variations between respective automatic transmissions starting at the early stage of shipment a nd provide a good speed-change quality before learning is promoted by an actual running.
