PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a target by an image including the target without any increase in scale of the device and complicatedness even in the case where the target changes in its frequency. SOLUTION: An image target detector 1 is adapted to detect a candidate area for a target on the basis of two or more time series images of frame unit including a target image. The detector includes: a difference processing part 20 for finding a difference in each pixel between images adjacent to each other timewise in two or more time series images to generate two or more differential images; an absolute value processing part 21 for finding the absolute value of each of the two or more generated differential images by each pixel to generate two or more differential absolute value images and outputting the two or more generated differential absolute value images; and an integration processing part 22 for timewise integrating the two or more differential absolute value images output from the absolute value processing part 21 on the basis of a predetermined integrating coefficient by each pixel.
