PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a thinned laminated organic photoreceptor; to provide an organic photoreceptor which ensures good dot reproducibility, no periodic image defects and good sharpness even when natural decrease of film thickness proceeds after long-time use; to provide a high endurance image forming unit which forms a high-definition dot image by an image forming system using a tandem system; and to provide an image forming apparatus which ensures good sharpness and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The organic photoreceptor has a charge generating layer on a conductive substrate and a charge transport layer on the charge generating layer, wherein a film thickness of the charge transport layer is between 20 and 15μm, and a rate of change of exposure energy (E<SB>600/100</SB>) required to attenuate potential by electrostatic charge from 600 to 100 V is≤0.01 (μJ/cm<SP>2</SP>μm).
