The gear train has lubrication points supplied with lubricant. The gear cage (15a,b) has an integrally closed fluid-proof wall section (16a,b) in peripheral direction relative to a central axis (11-11). The axial front ends (17,18) of the cage are sealed by concentric slide ring seal units (19,20) relative to a neighboring central bevel gear (5,6), against escape of lubricant. Each unit contains a metal slide ring, which is positioned sealed and non-moveable relative to either cage or bevel gear, and with slight movement relative to the other part to be sealed. The slide rings are sheet steel stampings. The cage is formed by rolling of a tubular housing blank and the slide bearing faces (14) are formed by a milling process.
