<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a milk component-containing gel-like food comprising a milk material, a gelatinizer and a stearoyl lactate, homogeneous in contents with occurrence of no "rough" phenomenon and having the palate feeling of fine texture and nice tongue touch, and to provide a method for producing the food. <P>SOLUTION: The milk component-containing gel-like food comprises the milk material, the gelatinizer and the stearoyl lactate, being characterized by containing the stearoyl lactate. The food is preferably a chilled dessert such as pudding.
