PURPOSE: A receptacle is provided to prevent that contacts are always exposed and prevent that dust is attached on a female-type contact by blocking an opening forward surface by a shutter when the receptacle is not connected to an object-side plug. CONSTITUTION: An insulating socket housing(1) has an opening(11) into which a plug having male-type contacts is inserted. A plurality of female-type contacts(2) are disposed in parallel in a shape opposite to an internal wall of the opening. If the plug is inserted, the plug is contacted with the male-type contacts. When the plug is not inserted, a shutter(3) blocks a forward surface of the opening. If the plug is inserted, the shutter retreats in an insertion direction. A compression coil spring(5) presses the shutter by force advanced to the forward surface of the opening. |
