The measuring device uses a microwave transmission reception system for evaluation of the road surface condition from the reflected microwaves, directed onto the road surface in front of the vehicle. The microwave system is polarisation selective to determine the depolarisation characteristics of the road surface as a mathematical function from which the surface characteristics are determined. |
