BRAKE OF CASTER

PURPOSE: A brake for a caster is provided to support locking of a wheel firmly and stably by preventing a lever from being turned with a locking projection of the lever and a locking hole of a locking member in contacting the locking member to the wheel, and to detect locking of the wheel conveniently by clattering on inserting the locking projection to the locking hole or tactile impression on a hand. CONSTITUTION: A caster(100) comprises a top plate(110) fixed in the lower part of a cart; a support bracket(120) turned and combined with the lower part of the top plate; a wheel(130) rotated, installed to the support bracket, and contacted to the bottom; and a brake(140) having a locking member(150) and a lever(160); and a bolt(170) and a nut supporting the lever, a vertical plate(155) and the wheel to the support bracket. The locking member comprises a horizontal plate(151) placed in the upper part of the wheel by penetrating the support bracket, and the vertical plate combined with the side of the support bracket and composed of upper and lower contact projections. The lever is turned and combined with the horizontal plate between upper and lower contact projections, and contacted to the upper and lower contact projections to lift up and down the vertical plate by rotating and reversing and to contact the horizontal plate to the wheel. A locking hole is formed in the lower contact projection, and the horizontal plate is contacted to the wheel in moving down the vertical plate by reversing the lever. A locking projection(161) is inserted to the locking hole in locking the wheel to prevent rotation of the lever.
