Method to control the measurement report mode on a radio interface and a radio network controller for performing such a method

The method involves measuring radio propagation parameters between a mobile terminal and a fixed transmitter and receiver (13). A report message indicating a part of the measured parameter is transmitted to a controller of a radio network (12). An estimation of a displacement speed of the terminal to the controller is estimated. The report message is processed to determine a report mode specifying a part of the message. An independent claim is also included for a controller of a radio network.
