PURPOSE: A method for supplying a ringback tone alternative sound in an intelligent network and a system thereof are provided to transmit a service processing request message, and to release a call under control of an SCP(Service Control Point), then to connect the call with a mobile station, thereby forming a speech path between an originator and a receiver. CONSTITUTION: An O_MSC(Origination MSC)/VLR requests position information on a receiver(200). A T_MSC(Terminating MSC)/VLR responds to the request by routing information including a TLDN(Temporary Local Directory Number)(204). The O_MSC/VLR attempts an ISUP call by transmitting an IAM(Initiation Address Message)(208). The T_MSC/VLR transmits a service processing request to an SCP, and suspends a call process(212). The T-MSC/VLR transmits function details-related information to the SCP if a message corresponding to an initial call connection prepare request is received(216). A ringback tone alternative sound reproduction server transmits an ACM(Address Complete Message)(222). The T_MSC/VLR transmits the ACM(224). The SCP transmits sound source file information to the reproduction server(228). A ringback tone alternative sound is played(230). The SCP requests the call process to be continued(234).
