PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a discharging method for the same for realizing a favorable liquid crystal display free from faulty display by preventing abnormal lighting in non-display regions. SOLUTION: A pair of dummy electrodes 26, 27 for discharging are formed on non-display regions 13 on both the inner surfaces of two panel substrates 24, 25. A lead terminal 27a derived from the one dummy electrode 27 is extended to a terminal part 15, and is connected to a flexible wiring substrate 20 which is electrically connected to the terminal part 15. A lead terminal 26a derived from the other dummy electrode 26 is extended to an extension part 30 of the panel substrate 24, and is electrically connected to a discharging means 31 arranged on the extension part 30.
