PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cordierite dielectric porcelain low in dielectric constant and high in Q value and to provide a production method of the cordierite mate rial dielectric porcelain capable of obtaining the cordierite material dielectric porcelain inexpensively and easily by a sol-gel method. SOLUTION: This cordierite dielectric porcelain/contains Mg, Al and Si as metallic elements, and has relative density of 2.25-2.5g/cm<3> and the Q value at 10GHz-measured frequency of >=3000. The dielectric porcelain 1 is formed by preparing a sol using water as a solvent by using a colloid in which an inorg. salt or an org. salt of Mg, the inorg salt or the org. salt of Al and an alkoxide of Si or a SiO2 fine powder are dispersed as a starting material, and after preparing the fine powder by using the sol, forming a compact and burning the compact. |
