Combustible paste contains a specific amount of water and a specific maximum amount of methanol. A combustible paste which burns with a colored flame comprises an aliphatic alcohol, water, a thickener, a fragrance, a colorant and a metal compound. The paste contains maximum 3 wt.% methanol (A) and 0.01-25 wt.% water (B).
