PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam shaping lens which can shape a laser light having an elliptical sectional shape into a laser light having a nearly circular sectional shape and enables high-efficiency beam shaping coupling while suppressing the occurrence of astigmatism and whose position adjustment is easy. SOLUTION: A beam shaping lens which shapes the laser light having the elliptical sectional shape into the laser light having the nearly circular sectional shape and projects the laser light on an optical fiber has a flat plate type lens base part 11, which has its projection surface abutting against an optical fiber end surface 21a and also has a nearly semicylindrical beam correction part 12 on its incidence surface on a prolongation of the optical fiber 21. The beam correction part 12 is arranged having its length nearly in the direction of a short axis at a position of incidence of the laser light on the beam correction part and the laser light is reduced in the direction of a long axis at a position of incidence on the beam correction part.
