PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make production easy and to ensure the renewing function of an absorbent material. SOLUTION: In an absorbent article having a liquid-permeable surface layer 2, a leak protecting layer 3, and a humor absorbing portion placed between both the layers, and the absorbent material 25 having a humor absorbing and holding function and a contracting function upon contact with the humor within the humor absorbing portion and in which the predetermined portions 30 of them are fixed to the article, the absorbent material 25 made by integrating a humor absorbent member 26 made by causing a carrier 26B to carry a highly absorbent polymer 26A and a contractable material 27 contracting upon contract with the humor, further having a humor diffusing member (ds) brought into contact with the humor absorbent member 26A, is used.
