PURPOSE: A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to reduce color characteristic difference between a transmission mode and a reflection mode. CONSTITUTION: A transflective LCD(400) includes the first substrate(100), a light-shielding layer(220), a color filter(230), the second substrate(200), and a liquid crystal layer(300). The first substrate includes pixel electrodes(120) and the first transparent substrate(110) on which the pixel electrodes are formed. Each of the pixel electrodes includes a reflection region having the first area and reflecting external light, and a transmission region having the second area surrounded by the reflection region and transmitting internal light. The light-shielding layer is formed on the second transparent substrate(210) opposite to the first transparent substrate and has an opening aligned with each pixel electrode. The color filter has the third area smaller than the first area but larger than the second area and covers the transmission region to reduce a difference between the first color characteristic based on light(1a) reflected by the reflection region and the second color characteristic based on light(2a) transmitting the transmission region. The second substrate includes the second transparent substrate on which a common electrode(250) is formed. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the common electrode and the pixel electrodes.
