The lift installation has between the lift car (5) and shaft wall (2) a compensating strand (7) spatially next to the suspension cable strand (6), and is provided for the reducing in difference between the lift car side and counterweight (4) side of the load of the load cable strand (3). The mass of the compensating strand per meter together with mass of the suspension cable strand per meter comes to four times the load cable mass per meter.
