PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the yield of nucleic acid recovery in the method of purification and separation of nucleic acid. SOLUTION: The nucleic acid is adsorbed on an inorganic carrier from a mixture containing nucleic acids, salts and organic solvents, and subsequently is collected by desorption of the nucleic acid from the carrier using an eluent. The organic solvents are compounds with 2-10 carbon atoms selected from aliphatic ethers, aliphatic esters and aliphatic ketones. The method of purification and separation of nucleic acid has an improved yield of nucleic acid recovery, an excellent operability and a little influence in pollution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
