PURPOSE: A method for supporting an interactive edition function of a video server is provided to rearrange segments during a video data edition, thereby uniformly maintaining an access load of disks while guaranteeing a real-time access during a retrieval process. CONSTITUTION: A disk arrangement controller of a video server checks whether an insertion or deletion request for segments exists(S10,S12). If so, the disk arrangement controller inputs insertion segments(S14), and determines segments to be moved and mobile positions(S16,S18). The disk arrangement controller moves the segments(S20). When the movement is completed, the disk arrangement controller substantially inserts the segments(S22).
