<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make immediately restartable printing when perfecting printing is interrupted by a paper-out error and to make obtainable an efficient output result. <P>SOLUTION: When a signal of a paper-out error is sent to an engine communication controller 12 from a mechanism controller 21, the engine communication controller 12 checks whether or not there is a substitute paper sheet.
